the voltage does work for me. for instance so far with shunt i dont get power cap anymore but if im pushing 2100 on some games i will get voltage perf cap @1.050 and if i add 25 to the voltage in afterburner it will jump to 1.062 and perf cap will stop. if i jump to 50 it will go to 1.075 then 1.085 and finally 1.093 at 100 on voltage. for me it helps with hitting limit.

Downloaded wildlands again to do some benches. Here's stock titan Xp's no overclock but shunted driver 381.65 at 4K with smaa and fxaa

Compared to my two ti's overclocked to 1999Mhz on ultra with temporal AA. Driver 378.92

So much for that 3-5% faster mumbo jumbo. crazy how taxing this game is. to be fair seen as high as 53 fps for ti's online. I wasn't able to get that high

I know I noticed that after post. something doesn't seem right. cards do well but with shunt i kind of fell back from benches especially since it hotter out.

Good to see that you're maintaining nice low temps. now.

You may not really need to bother with the shunt mod, but that's up to you.
As we're finding out, sometimes less is more.

A question from a "gamer" perspective to avoid power limit perfcap in some games, not benching, doing shunt mod.

As I understand using shunt mod generates more hot from increased power. Now with the ghetto 1080 hybrid, temps decreased (36 C max) providing me more stability and higher clocks and less power limit hits.

The gpu isn't in a water block and probably I would need to use some heatsinks near VRMs, thermal pads in the back of the gpu, liquid electrical tape, Lm.. wha-smiley.png

Could be that Increased hot would make me lose one bin or cause more instability for a faster increase of temps while not touching power limit ??...

PD: NVM, at the moment playing unkowns battleground 2101mhz@1.05 volts. I am going to stay this until some time and I will think about shunt again, depending on results on ppl at long term.

Thanks-

Yeah, you're best to check out results of those who have done the shunt mod for their feedback.

Lots of info in the 1080Ti thread as well.
Imo there are both pros and cons to doing the shunt mod.
I certainly have no intention to ever do it, lol.

weird issue - perhaps related to my 8K monitor.. but Wildlands (and a few other games) open to a 'black screen' and I can't even Ctrl+Alt+Delete to bring up Task Manager; I'm having to hard-reset the computer.

It's extremely annoying and happens on a few games - Trine 3, AC Unity, Ghost Recon Wildlands. All other games work fine. Not sure what's going on. Any ideas?
