Thanks, that is really helpful. I have neither time nor knowledge to water cool, or alter the card. Think I gonna RMA therefore and get a custom quiet gtx 1080ti instead. Bit sad but that's how it is ...

I am replacing my two Asus Strix 980ti with the XP ... or not .. depending on what you say! The STRIX were great, the loudest component is my CPUI AIO with app. 35db ... even under load while gaming in 4k the noise level stay the same and the Strix never exceed 72 degrees even with a considerable OC. I now read that the XP stock fan is crappy and really loud .. and under load definitely audible exceeding 40db by far. Would you conquer and say the stock fan is too loud? Many thank, your feedback is really appreciated. tongue.gif

Stock is WAY louder than the strix, you won't be happy with it unless you strap an H75 to it or something.

I had read that the new cooler was quieter then the old Titan Maxwell? Is this true?

With how loud this is over 60% I can't imagine that being possible. redface.gif

Will Display port 1.2 do 60Hz 3440x1400? I am using HDMI and DVI so I am making sure I can switch my 3415W over to DP and then use HDMI to DVI for other monitor.

Well their idea was to remove the DVI-D port so there would be more area for airflow. This would reduce the exiting velocity and uh... Reynolds number (determines laminar or turbulence) by a bit. Long story short, supposedly it was suppose to reduce sound and improve cooling capabilities.

Yeah, probably improved everything by like 5%, lol.

Though I am using a Titan X Pascal, I still ordered a Titan Xp right after its launch and hope it serve me for two or three years.
