Best Fan airflow placement in Evolv ATX

Hi All,


I need some advise on the below.


Please see both scetched setups:


Airflow 1#




This setup has my H100i V2 in the front with 2x 120MM intake, at the top 3x 120MM outtake and at the end 1x 140MM outtake.


This makes a total of 2x intake and 4x outtake, this will make a negativ airflow


Airflow 2#



This setup has my H100i V2 at the top with 2x 120MM outtake, 3x 120MM at the front intake and at the end 1x140MM outtake.


This makes a total of 3x intake and 3x outtake, this will make a neutral airflow


Which airflow do you guys recommend?


I will connect the 3x 120MM with a 4-Pin PWM Splitter (1x PWM -> 3x PWM) 30CM Sleeved Black.


I will connect the 2x 120MM with a DarkSide 4-pin PWM Dual Fan Power Y-cable Splitter - Jet Black


I will connect the 1x 140MM with a 4-Pin PWM Fan Extension Cable 30CM .


Also which program can I use the best to control my fans?



I hope you guys can help me out.

I'm using the bios (press delete on startup) to set the PWM speed. I tried using the Asus motherboard software, but the speed of my pumps and fans fluctuates too much when I control through software, as evidenced by the humming if my water pump changing from low to high pitched every few seconds.

Others may not have this problem.

I would do number one. I have read things about exhausting out of the top without having all fan positions filled, the air comes back into the case due to the restriction of the vents.

I would put 3 fans in the front of your case. 2 attached to radiator in push, and third either above or below.

If worried about negative pressure, you can throttle the exhaust fans down a bit...

I wouldn't make a decision without knowing what your GPU is - axial coolers increase chassis temperatures (meaning the CLC will intake hot air if mounted up top) while radial coolers don't effect chassis temperatures as much.

Either case, intake radiator is the better option for cpu temps... axial cooler or blower. But you would need a little more intake with a blower gpu cooler.

I think your 1-2c is more lke 5-10c and your 5-10c is more like 1-2c. Water cooling is not a 1:1 ratio but more like a 1:3 .. while air cooling 1:1.
This means if intake radiator increases air temp by 5c the GPU goes up 5c. If GPU heats air by 5c the CPU on raidator goes up 1-2c.
All of this is assuming here is not front to back airflow moving GPU heated air out the back vents ..1 with a fan.
