Should I buy 1080ti? - Page 2

Even a 1070 is a capable 1440p card. @ 1080p, the GTX 1070 will blow the doors off pretty much every game.

Also you wouldnt belive it but price difference between 1080 gaming x and 1080ti gaming x is 40$ and only two of 1080ti is avaialble in store where I am buying and I got one smile.gifsmile.gif

I am happy with my 1070 gaming on my 1440p gsync monitor. If I was gaming at 1080p I would have happily stuck with my 970. But thats me.

If only for 1080p a used 980 Ti will be plenty let along 1070! Both overclocked will do you good at 1440p. But with max OC, 980 Ti is a bit better than 1070 but none of those will reach stock 1080 performance based my own experience.

I just impulse bought 3 FE's, not sure what to do with them but I will likely sell them and wait for the ASUS 1080Ti Poseidon. but as far as next gen goes, honestly it will be a bit of a wait and we have no clue what the prices/specs will be. I myself tend to like to buy a previous gen card when a new one comes out to save a few bucks but this time I went a little crazy.

I can only imagine what an ultrawide 1440/144 monitor would cost....my standard 1440/144 was expensive enough and I had to look for months to get one at a price I was comfortable with. I thought about ultrawide for a while until I found out not everything supports it. Once it has wide support I'll probably consider it. Also I play a lot of FPS games and I think ultrawide could actually hurt me.

There was a point in time where I played Battlefield 3 on three 23" 1080p monitors using nvidia surround and I would not say that it hurt me, it helped a ton, I got called a hacker so often it was silly.
You just have to make sure you set up an FoV that works best for you when going ultrawide or multi display.
