Hi, does anyone have any experience using the Sony PVM (or BVM) OLED monitors as PC monitors? Any information on how it is for video, photos, games, text, etc would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I know of no-one that has used or even reviewed one. The prices are eh-hem, "professional". biggrin.gif

So my Sony PVM A170 arrived today.

I used it for about half an hour mostly looked at some photos and played a bit of Team Fortress 2 and Grand Theft Auto V.

Image quality is great. I use a Sony Artisan GDM C520 (at 1600 x 1200 resolution) and the Sony PVM looks better at 1920 x 1080. Then again I got the Sony Artisan used and it hasn't been calibrated. I should have a Sony Artisan GDM C520K with a brand new tube fully calibrated coming soon and I will see how the Sony PVM compares to it at 2048 x 1536. I do have a Surface Book (work) and MacBook Pro 2016 and those displays are comparable, but both have much higher resolutions.

In terms of lag, when playing TF2 I did notice a bit of lag when sniping. It was pretty minor though and I am used to using a CRT.

I kinda like the industrial design though I suspect many here would not. One thing to note is that the monitor does not tilt at all.

(please note that i am really not great at reviewing displays or any sort of expert)
