They are speaker/headphone cables and interconnects between devices like a high end music player to a amp/dac.

I will have to give that a try, my mouse does feel weird but I assumed it is because its wireless

Haaa... Bet you guys were expecting something completely different lol. But naw, I haven't got the money rn for high-end audio. ;P

I would install the Xonar DGX and disable the on-board audio, in the BIOS,
But not for input lag, but to try and improve audio quality.

The link talked about disabling on-board audio, but nothing about replacing it.
So I guess if you not not have any sound card, you get less lag ?

Of course no sound at all would be best, but I mean...

I like to hear things lol

Asus drivers have horrid latency issues and the bundled SW is junk in general, so if you're seeking some kind of improvement, make sure to install UniXonar drivers.

Didn't know there were drivers other than the pre-installed ones that work better lol.

I vouch for the unixonar software.

I use it for my headphones
Just make sure you have 2 channel / pcm 44.1khz/24 bit/PCM off/Hi-Fi mode on ( turns off all effects like EQ/room size)

Also on most xonar cards that have an amp, you can adjust the gain from there for 32 ohms up to 600 ohm headphones.

Great lol, thanks! I'm sure I won't have that problem, though. My current headphones are trash.

IMO the best value headphones you can get are used bayerdynamic DT880 32ohm for like $75 or used sennheiser 650s.

Unless your onboard audio is bugged or defective, I don't think a soundcard is going to help with latency very much. The "offloading processing" thing doesn't really apply anymore, even expensive soundcards do everything on the CPU that your cheap Realtek audio would.

In other words, think of mobo audio as a cheap soundcard that's just glued to the motherboard instead of packaged as a separate card.
