It all depends on the price. I just don't think going for a x79 is worth it at this point. With Ryzen and Intel likely answer to it with much more affordable 6 cores.
What is your current hardware? I really like my 4790k, I don't see why I would upgrade it. I had zero issue with my Z97 board. I think Devil Canyon is a solid choice but keep in mind it's already 2 gen behind so if your current hardware is decent, saving a bit and getting a new gen could be a better shot.

I actually made a deal with a user on here earlier, im trading my old graphics card for his delided 4790K. i currently have a 3570K and a gigabyte z77 ud3h
