Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
If we normalize all our results to the AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, you get a great idea of how these new AMD CPUs compare to Intel's offerings. To make it short: Ryzen isn't all that great for Photoshop.

So which is it? The video or the article? biggrin.gif

Is this Apple's latest Mac Pro?
Just as 500 grand Lamborghini gets swamped by 100grand corvette. Some might say well the Lamborghini/Mac pro is sexy, and still wins no matter what. It's just a perspective consumers have. Oh you want air conditioning in that Lamborghini? Sorry not an option. tongue.gif

I like the old Mac Pro better than the trashcan anyways... I just upgraded the old one personally. Have $2100 total in the entire build and it destroys everything I could throw at it from an audio/video workstation perspective. If it wasn't mostly just an audio workstation I would toss a 1080 in it or perhaps my 980Ti when I retire it.

Nice to see the Mac Pro getting a refresh in 2018 though, but expect to pay close to $10k again for a fully outfitted one. I hope they choose a new design though, they went from something great to the trashcan lol.

I get the point but if I am a graphic artist, I'm using the system I like working with. Not what passes benchmarks. Speed is important but if I am sitting in front of the machine 8 hours a day I have to like the interface.

I am willing to bet the next Mac pro will have Ryzen CPU.

More performance and profit for Apple. Apple users will still pay $5000+

Its true!

Gotta love it when your brand name is so strong, consumers don't bother using logic to deduce they're getting ripped off. Most businesses would kill for that kind of name recognition.

OMG! A BRAND NEW CUSTOM BUILT SYSTEM IS DESTROYING AN OLDER PRE-BUILT!

/S

Seriously, this shouldn't be news. Manufacturers will start to update their line-ups soon to include the new technology. I am sure apple is busy in design right now.
