Hi,

I wasn't sure where to post this as it is a new issue and i simply can't figure out this problem I am having.

It happens only under a specific set of circumstances and I can't fix it for the absolute life of me.

I am posting here in the hope that ANYONE might have ANY possible suggestions.

I have tried clock speeds, set ups, software updates, etc.

Basically this is what happens.

When my PC is on. ( I am now running stock settings due to this issue and trying to solve it) if I have Google Chrome open with numerous tabs from Youtube and whatever, and also have my game going *specific game being War Thunder*, and teamspeak.... and constantly Alt-Tab between the game on my primary monitor and my other two monitors with the tabs and programs.... Eventually, (only after having ALT tabbed enough) my PC will lock up with a audio loop and require a hard reset.

I have tried.

MemTest... memory is 100% ok at its rated speed and I am running it a lot slower just to be sure it isn't that

CPU benchmark tests ( at stock speed.. never an error or issue )

Nvidia Driver updates ( multiple, roll backs and latest drivers ) as well as the enabling and disabling of SLI

Stock Bios clock speeds on everything with all settings default and Auto.

Stock Bios clock speeds on everything with all settings default and Auto and all voltages for Cpu, mem, etc boosted * moderately with temps in check*

Windows updates.

Game client updates.

complete pc tear down to check for loose connections.

........................... I am absolutely frustrated now at this point. Make me want to throw this whole thing in the garbage and get a Ryzen and 1080Ti tongue.gif...

Specs are:

6700K
Asus ROG MAximus VIII Formula
G Skill TridentZ 3600 mem
Corsair HX1200I PSU
2x MSI 1080 sea hawk
Samsun 850 Evo sata, and 950 pro M.2
Windows 10

the nature of the complete hardware lock up/ black screen/ and repeated audio loop bug of whatever was the last sound before the crash truly indicates to me this isn't software related, but something is failing...

How much RAM do you have? I know you tested the RAM with MemTest but did you also test each RAM slot. Test one RAM stick in a known working slot, keep it that way and see if the computer freezes.

32 GB.

ok i'll start removing ram sticks until I get on stick left.

I'll increase virtual memory if it is eating too much

Chrome...theres your problem. Ram eater biggrin.gif

On a serious note, I would use DDU to fully remove gpu drivers, then remove one gpu, do fresh driver install and see. If same problem, go one further and run off the intel igpu.
