Man do I feel like an idiot, installed z97 mobo in place of z87 for my 4790K - Page 3

To me? That is pretty good yes. My 4790k can't do that so jeh..

Since you ran it earlier at 5ghz you know youre cpu can handle that.. but sometimes the scaling goes tru the roof when bumping up another 100mhz or so no telling how far a cpu can go by the former oc and voltage..

Also i dont consider cinebench a good stability testing program, so you still might fail at gaming/video coding.

Does it harm the CPU to get a blue screen due to too low voltage? Haven't got one yet at 1.28. Gonna see how long I can run it at 4.9 @ 1.28 without going through furmark or something.

Update: just crashed BSOD. Now it's at 1.3 core and 1.21 Uncore volt.

Update: 2nd crash, now it's at 1.32 core and 1.23 Uncore. This is where I could run it since day one 2 years ago. Will see if it's degraded now.

Nah, a few bsods wont hurt youre windows or system. We all get them while oc'ing.

I had the same thing with my 4790k. Could run 48x @ 1.28v and 49x @ 1.3v, now it needs 1.31v for 48x and havent got 49x stable so far. I could run multiple tests and games untill i booter bf4 lol. That game changed my OC lol

I've ran 5.0 on my 4790K for a while like I said 2 years, but really 4.9 I can't see much difference ever since I got a GTX 1080. If you get any 4.6 or higher you're fine as long as your card is top. It's all about the card I think.
