To Reach my goal of 2400MHz Ram, for my i7 LGA2011 GAMERIG. Fellow Tweakers, HELP!!

Hi Fellow OCers,

My wall mounted game rig needs some tweaking
IMG_20170303_232556_HHT.jpg 2674k .jpg file
I was inspired by the wall computer someone made on this forum, I just had to build one!

I've recently been stuck at 1866MHz memory speed until recently getting to 2133MHz memory speed woohoo
The ram is rated at 2400MHz and want to get to that speed.

The system spec is as follows.
Intel core i7 3820 at 4.3GHz (100x43) vs (125x34)
ASROCK X79 Extreme 6 SOCKET LGA2011
8x 8GB DDR3 2400 (64GB) Corsair Vengeance (CMY32GX3M4A2400C11R)
Sapphire R9 290X TRI-X

The 64GB is new edition to the system as it came from my old i7 4790, I wanted to see if 64GB is any good. I've yet to see windows use it properly! games won't cache to it! tho my last windows **** itself superfetch wouldn't start!. I use to be a firm believer that SuperFetch needs to be disabled, but have honestly seen better performance in games! might be placebo?

So I have taken a bunch of photos of bios and hope my fellow tweakers can advise safer voltages for my CPU, PCH and other components so i dont burn them out!

Everytime i up the ram to 2400 its all over.. have to reset bios etc etc
I actually finally got to 2133 by adjusting voltages somewhat from auto to forced.. you will see current speeds and voltages in photos.

I think I remember seeing the ram hit 2400 stable when I adjusted the cpu with a fsb 125mhz trying to o.c. that way with cpu down around the 1500mhz
The ram did boot with 2400 but crashed as i pushed cpu speed higher..

I would also like to know.. the QPI clock
I did have system running stable with 4.3GHZ with a 125MHz FSB.
In turn, i did see the QPI clock hit 4GHz.

Will I see alot of improvement having the QPI running 800MHz faster
I understand overclocking will shorten life spans etc. I do have excellent cooling. Liquid custom loops

I worry about the increase of 800MHz..
Will it hurt my processor by clocking that QPI so high. Is this a very common ToDo? Among OCers?

A Zip of the Photos, to save you time downloading them each BIOSX79.zip 1361k .zip file

Look forward to the tips and ideas smile.gif

Could just be that the memory controller can't handle that much ram at those speeds.
