Yes during load place the probes on yellow and black.
Computer PSU without load don't provide a good voltage regulation, they need usually at least 20% load on all the lines to work properly.
DC-DC PSU are less afected to cross loads because each line is independently regulated. But your PSU is group regulated, 12v and 5v shares the same pwm voltage regulator so you never get good regulation.
For example If you put a big load on the 12v and the voltaje drops, the pwm controller try to compensate this and 5v voltage increase too much and vice versa. Usually the 3.3V is independently via a lineal/buck regulator thumb.gif

Sorry for the bad english, writing technical explanations is a bit hard to me biggrin.gif

Okay, have not tested with DMM yet.

But HWinfo reports even below 11V - left it while gaming and mining at the same time. The PSU is faulty, it actually turns out it has 1 more month warranty left, so i will be returning it.

So, to answer my own question, How Low is Too Low - the answer is, up to 11.05V, everything was fine.

If it drops below 10.95, the supplied voltage to the GPU's is NOT enough, and if the system is lucky, only the drivers will crash. Otherwise, the entire system crashes, with Black screen (as output) and buzzing sound.
Buying this 8320 was useless, the 960T wasn't faulty :/

Do it, it's the only reliable tool for voltage reading. Software readings like HWinfo can't be trusted at all.

Yup, did it.

Measured at PATA power connector, which has a HDD attached to the 2nd connector. This one was in the middle. Total length of the test took ~10 minutes.

Basically, the reported voltages on IDLE by HWinfo and measured with the DM are same, 11.88V, and 5.08V. Did not test the 3.3V, i presume that i will need to run only the PSU, with shorted pins.

The 12V under 600W load from wall, was pulling 11.6V, although the DM is slow on refresh, so if there are any spikes, they go unnoticed. HWinfo reported was 11.3V, with minimum of 11.2V. Did not do prolonged use test, don't have the time and nerves to sit 45 minutes on the flow and measure (+ guarding from the puppy).

The 5V under same conditions, did 5.18V (!) at DM, HWinfo reported 5.12V.

The 3.3v was reported at about 3.1V, and the 3V SB, on iddle is doing 3.5V, with under load going to 3.3V.

That's still within ATX spec (11.4~12.6V for +12V, 4.75~5.25V for +5V), though 11.6V is close to the lower limit.

Puzzling, there's no "3V SB" rail in your PSU.

There's indeed a +5VSB rail, if you're getting 3.3~3.5V from it with a multimeter something is wrong here.

I don't even want to see how bad the ripple probably is, since it's barley staying within ATX spec just for voltages. Something tells me the ripple is probably pretty bad.

I wouldn't be surprised. After the holidays i will be filing for replacement if possible.
