Then i decided to try your first suggestion 1.285 adaptive - offset .005 and it booted and i ran stress test and it bsod clock_watchdog_timeout
when you get that watch dog time out, you need more Vcore..

Set to 1.32 with +.010 offset, try again.

My PC is in the basement back home, where its nice and chilly, about 67-69 in the summer. It usually idles at 28-30. I think the Phases on that mobo arent super great, but will get by with basic overclocking. 4.4ghz is a stead/solid clock for a 6700k. I know, turbo 4.2 or 4ghz stock. but 10% increaset in performance for a tad bump in voltage isnt that bad.

CA huh? I am heading out that way in a week for business trip and see old friends in San Diego.

It looks like your board has 8+2 power phase, which is good..but the components are slightly different than my Hero, and majorly a different PWM controller. That alone could change the stability in an OC. Your chip may be a beast, but if you put it on a good entry gaming board, it wont OC super megao high on lower power quality.

I am not saying go out and buy another board.

First stress test everything was fine except temps were kinda high but then prime 95 crashed. Second test everything is fine but worker #3 stopped. So i realize i have beem using the custom prime 95 stress test the oc video that you showed me use. So i used a preset one this time and temps seemed alot lower, but worker #3 stopped after awhile. Fatal error rounding was .4999065399, expected less than.4

Try XTU stress test, Prime 95 is notorious for really producing a LOT of heat. These guys in the vids i sent are used to custom crazy loops and LN2 cooling. Try loading up a game and test out that way. YOu might need a touch more offset, +.015

that, or bump your voltage up .005 more in bios, leave offset.

RUn cinebench, handbrake, or OCCT. RealBench is a good one too. Prime95 and the LinX will really tear up the CPU and test stability like no other. I dont do a lot of ultra super important work that i need the UTMOST 99%+ uptime of my computer, I use it to game and mess around.

Strang thing with Intel XTU, it puts more strain on the CPU when doing benchmark than stability test.

My scores for XTU are 1390-1400 depending on day.

CPU-z bench is about 2350-2400 on single core, 10150-10400 on all cores. Thats another start and comparo to my 6700k.

Umm not exactly sure but we usually keep the house around 70 F, but my room does get warmer with this beastly pc in it xD not a very big room with slightly poor ventilation. Yea at this point id be happy at 4.4ghz and 3200Mhz ram and to pray that all my equipment works lol. But yea 4.2 turbo isnt to bad, although temps didnt seem stable when i tried stress testing it (not sure if i used custom or preset stress test)

Thats cool, i dont think ive been to san diego and ive lived here 5 years now lol

Yeah. Once you got those easy ones dialed in, THEN move to heavy lifting options in OCCT

4.4ghz is almost no difference from 4.5, even 4.6ghz

It uses quite a bit less power. I had 4.4 solid at 1.264 with -.008 offset and ran like a champ. I might go back to that. 4.6 is nice, but its not THAT much of a speed boost for the power used and heat generated.

I lived in San Dog for 7 years. I miss the food. Cant get real, legit Mexican food, burritos, or super fresh produce any time of year...

so at my current 4.5ghz realbench it passed no bsod 15min, temps got to 82 max at some points during test(using hwmonitor). Cpu z bench - single core 2253 multi- 9941
Gotta restart computer tp try xtu

Yea i may try 4.4Ghz just for lower temps or i may stick with this 4.5ghz

Oh man i believe it, Ca has some good quality food 😎
