Alright, now that we are back; the reason they have the wider VRR range is because those particular panels have their scaler and hardware tuned properly. As a result AMD has been able to implement LFC into some of the FreeSync panels on the market. Those panels being the ones with properly tuned scalers to actually function with a that wide VRR range.

Unlike G-Sync where all G-Sync displays behave the same regardless of price point, resolution, etc.

Why you want to avoid acknowledging the fact that it is because of the tuned scaler that they have a proper VRR range and LFC is beyond me. It doesn't matter when AMD implemented LFC in their product offering, considering most the FreeSync features didn't work at launch due to lack of tuning in the hardware across vendors. What matters is the requirement for it to function. That requirement isn't just software.

God that is a stupid argument.

nVidia GPUs do not support the optional DP1.2a AdaptiveSync standard.

To repeat again: nVidia does not support the standard.
Unless nVidia has supported DP1.2a AdaptiveSync this entire time and was too stubborn to enable it, yes.

The HD5000, HD6000, and 7970-generation 7000series (GCN1.0) all do not support full AdaptiveSync for the same reason.

nVidia will not drop GSync though, it cost them nothing to support it now.

You can call it stupid all you want, means absolutely nothing to me. I call it how I see it. And usb or Universal Serial Bus isn't vendor specific, it's an industry standard so talk about a "stupid argument." rolleyes.gif

...and you're right, nVidia won't support an open standard.....you have to ask why? The answer is fairly self evident in my estimation.

I think I see were our wires are getting crossed here. Your original post reads like they tune specifically for LFC ( my mistake)I apologise, I took a statement of the obvious for more than what it is.
