Based on what I heard, the 1500X is 2 cores per CCX. Some sources seem to say the 1400 is the same, but there are also sources that say the 1400 is just one CCX, so it seems there's a lot of indefinite information (hence my question). But, from an article I saw late yesterday, it definitively seems the 1400 does in fact use both CCXs, and it wouldn't surprise me if maybe this means 3 working cores on one CCX with just one core on the other. But knowing that all Ryzen 5s use both CCXs, I'm guessing the layout looks like this

A fully-functional Ryzen 7 where each core works. 1-4 is the first CCX, A-D is the 2nd, and # is the L3 cache.
1 2 # - # A B
3 4 # - # C D

A 1500X probably looks something like this, where X is anything disabled:
X 2 # - # A X
X 4 # - # C X
it could also look like this:
X 2 # - # X X
3 4 # - # C X

And a 1400 probably looks like this (note how the L3 is also disabled):
1 2 # - # A B
X X X - X X X
or it could be mirrored

Meanwhile, Ryzen 3 models likely look something like this:
1 2 # - X X X
3 4 # - X X X
and that too could be mirrored

The way I see it, I don't think it's just the quantity of damaged cores but their position too. You can't really control what becomes faulty, so AMD needs to make the most out of the mistakes/faults. I don't think AMD would allow for any major gaps between the silicon, so for example I don't think we'd see a 1400 that would look like this:
X X X - X X B
3 4 # - # C X

Because perhaps there's not really a quick and direct path that leads to core B.
