Just bought a brand new G400s on NewEgg for $40.00. Got it today and it refuses to show on logitechs gaming software. I am also a bit suspicious with the build quality but have never owned this mouse before.

Removed them, ordered it from corn electronics.

Edit: The G logo sticks out quite a bit also, is that normal?

Could be a fake. You might be able to see if the Vendor IDs are different. Not sure how elaborate the phonies are in that regard. Some fake Deathadders even register with the software.

Make sure software is fully updated and investigate further. Might have to open up and look at the board in the end.

Mouse can't be fake if software works with this mouse.

After a 4th restart my computer finally picked it up in LGS software, I guess it must be legit. Build quality seems a little questionable though.

The latest version of LGS does not recognize my G100s either. Logitech simply stopped supporting the old models.
I'm very sure that 3 years ago the old LGS supports my G100s.

There's fake DAs that work with Synapse so its not out of this realm for that to happen.

And why are such DA worse than the original?
