Why do my 1080's have different max voltage caps?

Thread Starter
Hey guys!

So question is this, Why do my 1080's have different max voltage caps? It is limiting me from getting a higher overclock because of the following:

  • GPU1 = 1.0930v (good)
  • GPU2 = 1.0310 (bad)

As you see, my 2nd gpu is limiting me, and I cant get higher OC because of the voltage cap. GRR. Any ideas?

See picture for current settings

Thank you!! thumb.gif

Some specs would be helpful like their models how are they cooled etc.

sorry lost track of the thread have you tried maybe doing curve overclocking in MSI Afterburner and see if they would hold the voltages

I'm thinking your LN2 Mode [Slave Mode] switch is not working properly, or you have the standard BIOS installed in both BIOS registers on the locked card.

How does GPU-Z report the BIOS info for each card? Does the BIOS info change when you flip the Slave switch?

You can probably get around this by simply reflashing the LN2 BIOS from the working card into the slave setting BIOS on the locked card, but I'd investigate some more (including closer inspection of the switch itself) and then give EVGA tech support a call.

One would think that, but both cards are allowed 130% power. The LN2 bios allows the 130% up from 120% so its confirmed in LN2 right

GPUz main tab shows BIOS version, post that for both cards.
