Eversince i build my Dual Xeon PC around the Asus Z10PED8-WS i had nothing but Problems and i have tried to change it, once with a Supermicro board, that didn't work that well, untill i found this Board from Asrock. The reason i chose the Asus Board in the first place was because of the PCI Slots Configuration, but somehow i missed this board, which has the same PCI Express configuration as the Asus board, because i always looked after an M.2 Slot which this board doesnt have. Which in itself is not a deal breaker, since i got me a PCI Express 3.0 16 board which can take 4 NVME PCI express 3.0 4x SSDs (I have a 512 GB 950 Pro for the gaming Drive and a 256 GB 960 Evo for the OS drive)

Hi,

I was considering getting this board as it got some positive feedback here from you as well as from smicha on the octane render forum.
In contrast I saw quite a few complaints about the comperable Asus Board you mentioned.
I just wanted to double check with you if you encountered any trouble with the NVME base Pci express ssd as I could not find anything about NVME support on the asrock website. Is there a BIOS function for a base - overclock like on the asus board ?

Missed this thread until now.... Generally pretty happy with this board (have a Z10PEd16WS as well in another machine - m.2 is bootable but uselessly slow on that board).

Have not tried to boot from nvme on the EP2C. I have sata ssd boot drives (850 pro) and then lots of drives in raid via HTP RR840A

Just today, I added an SSD7101A and I'm still working out some issues with SSD7101A + 4x 960 pro 512G. I should see 10-12GB/s sequential w/raid0, but the best I can get is 3.7GB/s so far. Lots of variables, including that this card is on CPU1 not CPU0's PCIe (make that CPU2 in ASROCK's parlance). It is x16 (and status indicates as such), but it does mean CPU0 reads it through QPI not directly).

PCIe generally full of goodies - 2x1080ti, 10Gbe, HPT840A and now SSD7101.
