Build question

I hope I am in the right forum because I cant start any threads anywhere else, from what i can see in your lists.

I currently have the following build circa 2010:

Case CoolerMaster Haf 932 full Tower

Motherboard Asus P7P55D-E LGA 1156 socket

Ram Kingston KHX1600C9D3K2/4GX HyperX DDR3 (2x2GB)

CPU Intel Core I5 750 2.66 GHZ Quad Core (Gen 2)

Storage Western Digital 1002 FAEX 1TB 64 MB Sata3 Black Caviar 7200 RPM x1

PSU Corsair TX 650W(non modular)

GPU Asus EAH 5770 1GB PCI-E CuCore GDDR5

and am looking to upgrade to the following:

Case CoolerMaster CM Stormstrooper or Stryker(not sure which yet)

Motherboard Gigabyte AB350 AM4(if AMD Build) or Gigabyte H270 (if Intel Build)

PSU Corsair RM 650X(modular)

Heatsink ThermalTake Contac Silent 12)

GPU Gigabyte GE Force GTX 1050ti 4GB GDDR5

CPU Ryzen 5 1600 6 core/Ryzen 5 1400 or I5 7600 or 7400(not sure which yet) (depends on bug problems I ve been hearing about with Ryzen 5 Series)

Storage Sata WD Caviar black 1TBx2

Samsung 850 EVO SSD Sata 250 GB

Ram GSkill Ripjaw 2400MHZ DDR4 2x8 GB

I do multimedia, home video editing and some 3d rendering as an amateur and also some gaming.
1 Which is a better build
AMD or Intel for price and performance
2 Are these both good builds or could I do better?
Thanks
ps Not sure if you are in Canada but saw prices at store called Canada Computers and have heard forum feedbacks of horrible after service such as not respecting warranties, do you know anything about this or should I shop elsewhere???

Hey dude,

Right so if you're doing video editing I would go with Ryzen, however, your GPU is pretty entry level at best, could you go for the GTX1060 6GB, that would be a much nicer card. If not, I would drop over to an i5 and get a better GPU for the Cuda cores ;-)

Cheers

but what about choice of parts build
Amd or Intel and is choices strong enough to do the job what with some online gaming thrown in
Also is it an overall good build?

3 things i would do

1: get a better CPU cooler as the one you picked is not all that good, the Cryorig H7 is much better and is still very cheap
2: 650 watt is more then 2 times what the machine will draw so something as small as a 400 watt would be enough
3: while the CM Strorm Tropper/Stryker are very good they are also expensive and the Phanteks Enthoo Pro cost at least $25 less even if you consider rebates, the Phanteks Enthoo Luxe is more expensive but still cheaper then the CM.
