Bifurcation and a dual x8 pci-e 3.0 riser board can satiate the DTX needs in the interim...I think only Asrock ITX boards support it so far though.

Well technically you get x16/x8/x8/x8/x8/x8/X8 (according to the manual), but most likely it should be more than enough.

Now they just need to take that PCB and make a dual-slot cooler that's the same length for maximum Mini-ITX shenanigans.

Probably loud and hot. Is the demand really that high for 1 slot video cards?

If only nvidia allowed GPU pass through on it's GeForce cards.. this is internet cafe perfection.

Oh my god.. I just thought about having a 16 core Ryzen with 128 GB @ 4 ghz.. you could have 7 passthrough VM's with 2 cores and 4 threads with affinity and 8 GB ram per vm and still have plenty of overhead for the hypervisor!

1 machine = 7 gaming 'pcs'

As soon as AMD releases a board with 16x8x8x8x8x8x8x support at least rolleyes.gif

The nostalgia for single slot coolers ALA 8800gt or HD4850 would be enough for me to buy something like this. Even though the temperatures were nuclear like and the noise was something horrendous there's just something about it that makes me want it.

Remembering the golden age of PC building. thumb.gif

I mean in professional workstations or servers I would assume. But at that point it makes more sense to go with a quadro or other workstation variant of the GPU.

You could build some really compact computers around this and a mini itx board. Without overclocking you could fit the tdp under 300 watts and run it off a single brick. Using a pcie ribbon you could place it horizontally over the board and make the whole package maybe 3 or 4 liters.
