I'd like to get off Windows as the main OS, but I still need DirectX for games naturally.

I just installed older nvidia drivers, still same issue, so it is confirmed that creators update broke overclocking monitor refresh rate in nvidia control panel, it also broke enforcing color profiles through nvidia control panel, and lastly it broke 4k dsr from showing up as a resolution in games that previously showed it.

well done M$.

congrats to all of you who have np with it, really proud of you, enjoy your 60hz peasants.

I'm not going to say everyone is wrong or anything of the sort. I guess people use their computer far more and to much greater depths than I do. I mean, really how many programs do people have on their PCs on overclock.net? Like I'm genuinely curious. I just don't have the time to sit on my computer and run any sort of customization I can find on it. I keep it pretty basic

Same here. A lot of people around here work in IT and admin large data centers so I can understand that many of them are just butthurt about MS and Windows by default (having to deal with issues on a daily basis at work) but for average users like you and me Win10 is a fantastic OS and it serves me very well. Others are just haters that look for anything to gripe about when it comes to MS and Windows and that will never change. These same people likely railed against Win7 when it came out for the same reasons they hate Win10 now. I remember all the same outraged posts and media stories that came along when Win8 first released but now that OS is one of the "good" ones. In 5 years Win10 will be "great" and whatever the next Windows release is will be Satan. And the cycle continues...

I game at 60Hz its true. I also bought an Xbox One S a few months ago to game and stream media on my TV. Sorry for being a peasant and enjoying Win10 on my lowly 27" Korean IPS displays.

Btw, all of your issues will be fixed at some point like they always are, so you will have to go back to the old playbook of complaining about telemetry then...

The calculator in Windows 10 has a splash screen. That's a deal breaker.

I can't imagine how "spooky" Linux looks for the average Joe.

Linux will never become anything more than a "enthusiasm" os, people will continue to pay crazy amount for a broken os and in few years, the most severe, crazy privacy issues won't matter because everyone is to lazy to protest.

Deny it all you want, but this is the future.

.....yay..

I don't really care about telemetry or any of that, I just game, I don't understand why M$ has to break gaming with each big update.

Microsoft have been really bad lately. Not just with Windows either. Some of the people working on development tools have total disregard for the projects that depend on them and making breaking changes at a whim. These aren't big updates announced months in advance either. Some are just patch updates. Others aren't even announced.

I agree that they should do better with their updates not breaking things but Windows is insanely complex and they are dealing with an infinite number of different hardware and software configs out there so its understandable that some users will be negatively affected. This has always been the case to a certain extent.

I do care of telemetry!
Don't like it a bit.
I don't like the Anti Virus makers, most of them acting worser than malware. Using the Plug-in Badger to keep sites from tracking me (OCN have some nasty trackers from shady companies other sites are worser).

The thing is my faith and trust in Microsoft Windows is gone. Will never use a Windows computer to access my internet bank, haven't used Windows for that since Win8, was what everyone should have on their PC.

Still games needs Windows and I got 3 Win7 licenses. Will use Win7 until the last game running on Win7 are as old and dull as I find the Win10.
What after Win7, already using Linux for home office jobs and entertainment (music and film). Maybe a game console can solve the gaming needs and be sure, it won't be a Microsoft console.
