[Telegraph] Nasa announces alien life could be thriving on Saturn’s moon Enceladus - Page 4

Are we seriously devolving so much that we're arguing over the smallest of details here?

Short story is NSAA found signs of probable life...now whether life means a full blown alien or a micro organism doesn't matter. Life is life...if you don't agree, get someone to slap you with a dictionary, maybe it'll wake you up more this morning.

Admittedly, it was neat back when microbe discoveries were made on Mars back in 2013. But I'm starting to think NASA hasn't moved on past that point.

This. NASA has fallen to the realm of clickbait.

I'd say this is still completely newsworthy because it's the potential for life on two completely separate and very different celestial bodies that are not Earth. If they had come out saying something about life on Mars again, I could see your point.

If you consider the link in the OP to be click-bait, it's hardly NASA's fault. The Telegraph is the author of the article in the link in the OP. The scientific paper linked in post #4 is far from clickbait, it's a legit research publication, which is what NASA provided.

I'm almost hoping another organization steps in and takes NASA's place. Its like reading the same publication month after month, like I'm stuck in a logic loop.

Yeah, it can get tedious sometimes. I'm a little biased since I'm a space / science nut, but NASA has to keep the public engaged. Public engagement is one of the cogs in the budget machine... if no one knows what NASA is doing and therefore no one cares what NASA is doing / contributing then people will start crying for budget cuts to NASA. I think that would be a horrible mistake and plunge us even further into the (relative) science Dark Age we're on the brink of now... Maybe a lil pessimistic but oh well.

It might be repetitive sometimes, but I think in the end it's necessary so NASA is in the public mindshare, thereby securing it's funding.
