Help needed with overclocking i7 7700k to 5.0 GHz

Hello everyone
I have some troubles with getting my i7-7700K Processor to a stable 5.0 GHz oc.
I have purchased an OC pretested chip for $520, it came with a sticker on the packaging that says "5.0GHz @ 1.265v"
you can see the processor here
I have tried that, this is so unstable that it crashed on the first loop of x264.
The chip was tested on Z270 ASUS MAXIMUS IX APEX

Of course, I tried to run my chip with XMP on at 3200MHz and DRAM @ 1.36v, I've bumped up the Vcore of the chip to 1.306v and that still is unstable.
I am a total noob when it comes to overclocking, I did have a look at the Kaby Lake overclocking guide, but there are so many results that I am just scared to try it all.
I also won't settle for anything lower that 5.0.
The other worrying aspect is that the temperatures go as high as 85°C on full load.
My specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-7700K @ 5.0 GHz OC PRETESTED
MOBO: MSI Z270 GAMING M7
COOLING: NZXT Kraken X62
RAM: DDR4 Corsair VENGEANCE LED 32GB (4x8) 3200MHz
GPU: MSI GTX 1080 GAMING X 8G
SSD: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB
HDD: WD Black 2Tb
PSU: Corsair RM850i 850W
and a Dark Base Pro 900 Case from be quiet! (if that matters).

Thanks.

That mobo should get you there. I assume you bought it from Silicone Lottery? You should post in a Silicone Lottery Thread on OCN and a representative will help you out.

Not from Silicon Lottery, from a Czech online retail store, it's a very popular shop that ships EU wide

Oh, well I'd have a few words with them then!

Could the 1.265v be mislabeled from a more typical overclocking voltage 1.365v?

1.265v seems low for a 5.0 7700k. Not impossibly low but low

Silicon Lottery is selling 5.0 chips that look like this:

50x CPU Multiplier
1.376V CPU VCORE (Or less).
For Sale: Case swap part out
$1 (USD)
For Sale: FS MSI GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X
$700 (USD) or best offer

This might be the case and holy *****. looks like I overpaid $130 for that CPU

Going back to your original post these things don't add up:

temperatures go as high as 85°C on full load
Vcore of the chip to 1.306v
COOLING: NZXT Kraken X62

My guess is that you may have a thermal paste issue or your water cooler is not working properly.

I had a similar AIO on my 6700k and I was regulaly using 1.4v at less than 70c full load.

Try reapplying your thermal paste and see if you can get some better results.

cooler is working fine, maybe I tightened it too much and squeezed the paste out?
I thought that Kaby Lake is a warm chip.

Thermal paste is relatively cheap. I would clean everything off and try to re-apply and measure the results.

Others can speak to the temps you should see on a 7700k with your AIO but they just seem high to me.
