XPS 15 alternative?

Thread Starter
Reason why I want the XPS 15:
- Portability, I don't think you can beat that (quad & 1050 packed in a ~2kg and thin system).
- Quad core
- 1050
- Infinity edge ; 15 inch feels like 14 inch.

Yesterday, I check it in store (bestbuy) and I was pretty disappointed by the feel of it. The carbon fiber (plastic) feels rather cheap. The keyboard doesn't feel high end at all. I tried my mom's one (Lenovo T460) and I was so surprised how satisfying it felt to type on.
I don't think I need that much the quad but the 1050 is a nice thing to have considering I like to play time killer games during trips. I will type a lot on it so I would rather have something with a good keyboard (and metal body) than a quad & all the goodies the XPS 15 has to offer. 15 inch is a must as well.

Any suggestion is welcome but I will not consider any Mac.

I'm going to recommend this because I also was interested in the XPS 15, but for the display gamut. Either way, I felt as if this was the most comparable in terms of screen quality, performance, and overall construction. I got a killer deal, and I personally think its a tad overpriced based solely on the fact I hate Quaddro cards but: zBook Studio G3

If you want more gaming oriented MSI GS63VR - Not sure its worth getting 4k though if you dont care about that sort of thing.

I would get the lenovo y520 over the dell. It has the nice build quality you want.

Plus the speakers are probably awesome like their last generation models with the jbl speakers.
