Hey everyone,

I'm currently looking to setup VNC so i dont have to drive home everytime i need to update a file. The program is only on my desktop (which is why i want to use VNC on my desktop). I have a DDNS and It will be windows 7 laptop to windows 7... and maybe connecting to a mac occaisionally... I'm using putty for SSH but I dont know what to use for VNC server though because every guide suggests "their" software so what software do you guys use for a VNC server?

Anything is pretty synonymous. I've had some success with RealVNC.

Alternatively you can port forward RDP over the SSH tunnel if you wanted something built in.

Also a VPN setup might make it a bit easier than jacking around with individual ports through SSH.

I appreciate the reply, It seems like RDP over SSH is what i really want... Well VPN would probably be the BEST solution but RDP over SSH would probably be the fastest since ive messed with SSH before but i have NO experience doing VPN's (yet).
