7 day old nickel waterblock corrosion? what is going on here??

Thread Starter
i just installed a nickel plated EK titan x pascal block. 7 days in and it looks like this. i am using distilled water with a silver kill coil. water itself is perfectly clear both in the system and when drained.

1-Whay other waterblock do you have in your system? Do they suffer the same problem ?
2-Did you refill with used or new water ? Was the "new water" correctly stored ?
3-EK recomend to use its additives and not other stuff (like a kill-coil)
4-take it apart as soon as possible (sooner or later you have to do, so... )

Man that looks bad but it doesn't look like "corrosion" of the actual water block. It looks like you got rust in the rest of your system, perhaps a radiator is depositing that in the water block? I bet your entire loop looks like that on the inside. Is that blue tubing or is that clear tubing with blue coolant?

That is a residue in the water that happens without anti corrosive, normally when using copper sulphate additive. It just stains the nickel and will clean right off to an as new condition.

To stop it happening in the future use an anti corrosive fluid
