[Wccftech]AMD Radeon RX 580 Overclocking and Benchmarks Unveiled – Clocked Up To 1500 MHz On Liquid Cooling - Page 5

Pick the highest quality product you can afford that satisfies your needs/whims and wait for the product that at least 1.5X's the performance of your products at a similar/reasonable price. My first serious gaming card, a water cooled R9 290 (none X) is still kicking. Companies are going to have to ante up to beat my R9 290 that came with a water block for ~$300 (new). No card since has got me excited. I like hearing the stories of people holding on and are still satisfied with their old architectures thumb.gif. Be a smart consumer out there. Home PC sales are slumping (due to many factors).....let's continue the squeeze.

Sorry to get so off course...but I saw laptops still being sold with mechanical hard drives.....and they are selling like hotcakes...thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

The prerelease pricing on RX 570 seems to be pretty garbage if it's just a better reference card memory clock and slightly better out of the box clocks.

MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X Graphics Card (8GB) $253.00 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332121-REG/msi_rx_580_gaming_x_8g_radeon_rx_580_gaming.html

MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 8G OC Graphics Card $237.60 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332124-REG/msi_radeon_rx_580_armor.html

MSI Radeon RX 580 GAMING X 4G Graphics Card $222.20 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332125-REG/msi_radeon_rx_580_gaming.html

MSI Radeon RX 580 ARMOR 4G OC Graphics Card $206.80 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332126-REG/msi_radeon_rx_580_armor.html

MSI Radeon RX 570 GAMING X 4G Graphics Card $196.90 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332127-REG/msi_radeon_rx_570_gaming.html

MSI Radeon RX 570 ARMOR 4G $180.40 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1332128-REG/msi_radeon_rx_570_armor.html

You have to be on drugs to pay $200 for a 4GB RX 570 when you can get the same thing in RX 580 form for $220-230

Also the top of the line RX 480 STRIX OC is $240ish from Amazon

One thing is for sure, the Vega delay is driving people here up the wall.

well if those are price for preorder then probably are fine but they have to be lower once they are on stock because the 470 with higher clocks really isnt worth it 50usd more, and it wouldnt be a better option than a 1060 either

Actually I just said that I disliked them for it. This news also means they won't get my money with this release either, so yeah - there's no way I could be less supportive.

I get that it's simply tweaked / refined polaris, but somehow I'm still disappointed.

Unless AMD can produce a Vega GPU that'll serve me as well as a 290X has, I'll be going green with a 1080 Ti to hold me over for the next 2 years. mad.gif

You would be better off investing in a modern platform first.

Haha, probably true. This ol girl served me well; Intel did it right with the 920. Just like AMD did with 290x on the GPU side.

Going to be stopping by micro center this coming weekend; see if they let me sift through some 7700k batch numbers.
