No experience with the ti, but all the 1080s overclock about the same, so basically whichever is the cheapest with a decent heatsink is good to go. I'v fit a giant Zotac Amp edition in a R4, so your R5 should fit any standard or oversize gpu.

The only 1080 (or GPUs in general) I didn't like are the Gigabyte ones because they have a gimped TDP adjustment that doesn't go as high as all the others. Plus I'v had 2-3 DOA Gigabyte GPUs and a replacement GPU that died within an hour. And it's not like I order that many GPUs, but every dead one so far was from Gigabyte.

I haven't tried one, but the Asus Strix is a decent looking setup and probably the one I'd purchase. The only reason I don't go with one is I need the 3 displayports instead of 2 HDMI.

Strix is probably the best one right now while not many AIB card reviews are out.

All 1080 Ti boost to about the same range with max oc, around 2050 and occasionally 2100 if you are lucky.

Good AIB cards, provided with good cooling and voltage input, and yes there are ones worse than the FE, will stay in max boost clock longer/higher .

Just purchased an MSI 1080ti Sea Hawk X to replace my Gigabyte 980ti Waterforce.

Not really happy about forking out that much cash but I really didn't want to go back to air and struggle with thermal throttling over prolong periods of game play. redface.gif

I wanted the asus strix but did not want to wait and got the MSI 1080ti gaming X. Im upgrading from a 1070 so its def nice with my 3440x1440 ultra wide.

I was able to overclock my core +90 and my memory +150 and i get about 2063 mhz. Did not touch my voltage yet. My Timespy score is high 9000's and my firestrike was a bit over 21,000

Def recommend msi but like everyone else said they will all do a great job. So dont fret about one over the other too much.
