Are there any major differences between the silver and the black versions other than the dimensions? How is the tracking of modern optical sensors on the reflective-looking silver version? How long does one pad last under heavy use?

My blue g-sr didn't really wear down very quickly and I've read that it has a similar "coating" to the goliathus because of the graphic. I've also used a hyperx pad, and those "wear down" quickly (if you wash it frequently it isn't an issue at all as far as I can tell). I have a theory that the logi cloth pads that have "durability" issues probably should just be washed as well since they apparently have a very similar surface to the hyperx pad. I've also seen people talk about washing their goliathus pads to achieve a similar result of restoring the speed.

You can get durable mouse feet from slicksurf.

They will probably outlast you, if you use them on cloth pads.

They are a tad slower than hyperglides, because they use a different material.

I see, that size makes sense... but the price is way high!

now I'm tempted, if it's anything like my beloved glass pads but 2mm thick... tongue.gif

But why doesn't anyone ever take close-up pictures so I can see the surface texture... ;c

Zowie GTF-X
Compared to other fast pads that i have used, this pad is really resistant to developing those friction spots in the middle.
The ones that i have tried are Zowie G-SR, Razor Golathius (or something like that) speed, C4 NGen and the puretrak talent. all of those developed resistant spots fast compared to the Zowie GTF-X

I've been through a ton of pads and my favorite are the Puretrak talents. Easy glide and have lasted me a long time

The Zowie GTF-X mentioned by FreeElectron reminds me of another one of my favorites. The Glorious PC gaming race mice pads

still not convinced that a PTFE pad is going to last much longer than a glass or anodized alu pad though!

Oh yeah, it definitely won't.
