No thanks. I used to be able to stomach Steam, but I haven't used it or played any games I bought on it in about 6 years and that will not be changing (EVER). Sadly, I'm the only PC gamer I know IRL so the account sits unused (Console-only peasants lol). I wonder if Steam locks accounts that have zero activity after so long...

my friend made a steam account WAYYYY back in the day of half life 2. reactivated it over 10 years later no issues at all.

I don't see why you shouldn't upgrade to Windows 10 unless you just don't feel like paying for it. Also don't think to hard about the Distro. I would recommend you choose something well supported by developers those being Ubuntu or Fedora. Focus on the Desktop environment you want: XFCE (my fav after tweaking), Gnome, KDE Plasma, Unity, Mate, Cinnamon, etc... If you go with Fedora make sure you pick up RPMFusion.

I highly recommend upgrading to Windows 8.1 atleast. All the performance benefits of windows 10, without the worry of security issues that swamp Win10. Cant go back to 7 after being on 8.1. Win7 just feels so bloated and dated.

I feel no reason to stick with Windows for anything I do not have to. Not really in the mood to learn a new way of using Windows when I'm gonna use it as little as possible from here on out. As I said, just waiting to find the right Distro of Linux for me...

Yea, I was leaning toward Fedora as it stands. As for Win 10. If I had no intention to get it when it was free, I sure as heck won't get it now that I would have to buy it. Thats one train wreck that just keeps on keepin' on... redface.gif

Edit> Crap... Err... Um... Halo something. Sorry tongue.gif
