i7-7700k Temperature Issue - Page 4

My 7700k on stock idling during normal browsing from 46 to 51 C on 1.24V as an average temp. Sometimes when I'm opening new window through browser temp jumps for a while on about 65 C. Is it normal or too high?

That's normal on Kaby. Opening a new browser window or tab will make the CPU usage spike up, resulting in a short temperature spike. The temp should drop back down shortly after that.

And what about average 46-51C temperature? It's ok too?

Yep, 100% normal. You should be idling around 35-40C, with the PC not running any tasks. Try booting into windows and do nothing, no browser, nothing. You should be under 40C.

Thing is with browsing, you're opening tabs, loading videos (YouTube), pictures etc so the cpu has to work a bit.

I've tried it and have 38C. So it's normal or I have a worse cpu in terms of temperatures?

I have lower idle temps and lower temps when just browsing, but I have my 7700k dellided and have a Noctua NH D15 cooler so that also helps. Your temps are nothing to worry about.

7700K runs too hot- best to get a 6700K

No. The 7700k overclocks much better on average, many hit 5ghz no problem. Good luck doing that on 6700k. They do run hot, yes, but a delid is easy and cheap.

The 7700k and 6700k are practically identical up to 5.0GHz, except the 7700k runs a lot hotter at every speed. For the casual overclocker, the 6700k is the better chip.
