If Ryzen was not out, we would be getting a 4core in December clocked at 4.8ghz. Everyone here would go crazy over and change their 7700k.

On the many people who claim they will buy AMD no matter what, just because they need to justify themselves not being "part of the horde", which in turn it is funny, because they also put themselves as part of the opposite horde.

It's like Apple lemmings. Apple built itself on being the "outsider" and unique (look at the 1984 commercial). But in the end, Apple is the biggest producer of sheep in the world.

That would be nice if true. smile.gif

I've said it and I'll say it again, I can't wait for all the double backing when the new CPUs have the same IPC and clock lower than Kaby Lake, and all they offer is more cores. Suddenly the $250 1600X isn't worth it but the 8800k or whatever they will call it with 6C/12T at Kaby IPC +3% that OC's to 4.6 GHz is at $500.

I say this every time:

Looking for highest single threaded performance. All that's relevant to me is single threaded perf post overclock from gen to gen.

I doubt the top line mainstream i7 will move from it's price bracket ($350), even if it moves to 6 core. Intel already offers $400 6 core processors, not sure why they would add another $100 for a 6 core on a less desirable platform.

How far is zen+? I kinda want to upgrade my haswell i7 to 6+ cores but I feel like Zen isn't there for single core on games like Arma. I hope they release around the same time as coffee lake.
