On x299, I will be doing cartwheels!

No one give a damn about the poop graphic.

Intel has too much poop in their dies, time for amd to force them remove all these poops!

I wonder will the CL 6 cores i7 drop igpu just to increase cpu performance and reduce power/heat.

Can't you just turn the iGPU off in the BIOS and it doesn't do anything?

The iGPU adds a considerable amount of die area so it may actually be helping with heat dissipation lol (lower heat density)

Personally I'm waiting for Zen+ to weigh all my options, unless CL 6 core OCs >5 GHz and costs less than $300, which isn't happening any time soon.

Kaby-X will only have dual channel memory, 16 PCIe lanes. The integrated graphics on mainstream chips idle/disable when not in use, becoming dark silicon which improves the thermal characteristics of the chip- quite far from generating heat.

Intel new cpus suddenly gets released 5 months ahead of schedule. Guess they finally realized they can't milk their products like they did before. Makes me wonder the magnitude of their overpricing and ripping people off these past years... Still buying amd 16 core once it gets released.

ps. integrated gpu on any enthusiast or any cpus over a $150 needs to die, it is waste of space and electricity running that POS. It is more like an excuse and gimmick by intel for their lack of cpu innovation so they can continue to milk customers in the past.

Quad cores are like so ten years ago.

Are you arguing that having onboard video not in use is a good thing? Why not get a 22 core Xeon and disable 21 cores. Should run nice and cool by your logic.
I don't want it on the die wether it somehow benefits the neighboring processor or not.

Pretty sure CL 6 cores will not have an iGPU. With the space that the iGPU takes up on the die it would be perfect to replace it with two additional cores and be able to use the same socket. If they start selling 6 core 12 thread i7s for $350 like the current 4C/8T i7s, have at least a 10% IPC bump from Kabylake and still manage 5ghz OC it would be a really sweet chip.

Coffeelake at 5.5ghz core/5.5ghz NB + DDR4-4000 probably uses as much power as a 6950X at 4.6ghz
