Well I still think the epoxy is the best option if you don't want to spend a lot of money to either get a tap and die set to make it bigger or buying a new block.. If it's worked on my 20mm think bulletproof perspex tops for my block that really aint cheap stuff.. I just drop abit of expoy on the threds to make new threads

Would I have to drill the old threads out first?

If you're going to use epoxy, I'd leave the remaining threads. Just clean out all debris. The old threads will guide the screw and will give the epoxy something to hold on to.

Your call.
Good luck.

No don't drill it out just clean it out free from dirt thermal paste anything like that with alcohol let it dry well

Good luck.

I'll probably do the epoxy just to get by until I order a new one.

Well most epoxy resins are acrylic based unless you buy steel epoxy and they can stick most plastics as they weld quite well so if you can do it properly get a good clean contact it won't be any weaker then normal..
