Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+ Owners Thread - Page 3

Thread Starter
Got to see it 1st hand today in sprint store and I was very impressed. S8+ felt easy to hold comfortably in my hand and couldn't believe all the viewing space. It was in demo mode and store was busy so did not get a chance to look into the OS and look around.

My own 6S was easily fixed, being just some dust on lightning connector prongs that were causing poor connection which I thought I cleaned, but obviously not well enough. No reason to switch but I'm ready. My younger son has a 6 and wouldn't mind my 6S as I'm giving myself excuses while trying to hold back to see what next iphone brings.

I'm sure of 2 things. 1. If iPhone still doesn't have audio jack 2. The plus version is too wide to hold compared to S8+ I'm switching for sure.

Since Apple is purchasing their next displays from Samsung, I'm also wondering if Samsung will be selling Apple all their A- displays that did not make their A+ standards. thinking.gif

Question to owners: Does Bixby bring up Google Maps when asked directions to home or places in your contacts seamlessly? How about adding to Google Calendar request?

I'm positive we won't get Samsung's best displays in the next iPhone. I'd be happy with the Note 7's display though.

Apple won't be pleased. The display on the S8 and S8+ is breathtaking.

Note 7's looked great as well. If Apple can land those displays everyone will be happy.

I'm picking up an S8+ today. Decided to switch things up from my Iphone 6s Plus. Not sure why, guess I just want to tinker with android again and i'm only stuck with it for a year if I hate it.

Got my Galaxy S8+ today; arctic grey. Beautiful phone, even has my gf turning her head quite a bit, who's coming from a iPhone 7+

Really doesn't feel that big, and the aspect ration doesn't take more than 15 seconds to get used to.

I bought mine at Sams Club, came with a $150 store gift card ^_^

Picked up my S8+ yesterday morning and after using it for almost 2 days, it is very much worth the upgrade from my 3-year old Galaxy S5. TouchWiz finally feels good to use since it is close to stock Android and with all the customization and features that Samsung included, it almost feels like a rooted phone minus being able to use root-only applications.

Games look so much better with the larger screen ratio, especially if the UI is moved further away from the center of the screen. Even social media apps like Instagram and SnapChat have a smoother experience when using the camera, it's no longer a stutter-fest like it was on my S5. I love how I can have 10+ apps open and the S8+ does not lag nor close/restart any of the apps letting me seamlessly continue from where I left off.

Haven't tried using Bixby yet, but will try it this upcoming week. Battery life looks decent, although with fast charging at home, work, my car and even having a portable battery, I am always able to charge. AT&T LTE network speeds look good as I'm able to reach 85mb/s down and 20mb/s up around my area and unlimited data plan keeps me a happy camper. biggrin.gif

Picked up my S8 Midnight Black on Saturday (Monday morning here now) and it is a super awesome phone. That screen drool.gif All my friends that have seen it have been super envious and most of them are iPhone users. Porting over from the S6 was simple and fast with the smart switch app over cable connection. 1hr to transfer everything and just grabbed the S8 and used it as if no porting ever happened!

Battery life is excellent too. Didn't manage to push it far yet, but 6hrs of moderate to some heavy usage(no games) got it down to 65-70% thereabouts. Can't really complain especially when just using the fast charging for 10mins got the phone back up to 80%'ish.

When I was showing the phone to my friends who kept asking about it, I felt as if i was a salesman for Samsung(but I'm really not). This phone is a 11/10 highly recommended phone for everyone! thumb.gif

I have not had an android since the S5. I'm loving the S8+ so far, asbsolutley beautiful phone and considering I'm left handed the fingerprint sensor works perfectly. Retina scanner doesn't work outside at all pretty much.

Any suggestions on must haves for android? So far I'm using all the stock apps except I use Gmail, Media Monkey and Chrome lol.

Hello to everyone!

I need some advice/help with buying galaxy s8 smile.gif I'm using note 3 for already 3+ years and I wanted to upgrade to note 7 but... well you know what happened,so I waited a little more and now s8 rolls out. I went to store, played with s8 for a little time, was kinda impressed and confused at the same time. This prolonged screen and weird ratio 18.5:9 looks kinda unusual to me after note 3.. I know that everything else is better in this phone but camera from s7+weird shape and ratio+some problems with red all this makes me confused and I don't know what to do... Just wait some time for note 8 or buy s7 edge which has same camera and better battery and which is 1,4times cheaper than s8 or what?

P.S In my country,if I make pre-order until April 30th,I'll get Samsung Gear 360 (2017 edition) + 32gb 10th class micro sd as a gift.

I will be thankful for any advice, cheers.
