ASUS CROSSHAIR VI WIFI ADD ON.

(update) After completing the build and getting the OS installed the WiFi works exactly as expected.

I have seen some posts asking about adding wifi to the CHVI's m.2 e key slot.

I went ahead and ordered the following kit on Amazon, Mo-Co-So Dual 5Dbi Antenna Kit + Intel 7265NGW Wireless/Bluetooth M.2 Card https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N9MHFQB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_jvLMNou7BrXUk
and installed with with out issue on the Maximus IX, and now I'm in the process of adding it to my CH6 build.

I will report back in a couple of days with results since I'm still waiting on parts to complete my build which should be here tomorrow.

For now here is a couple of pics of the card and how I mounted the antennas.

The Wifi is working great, I have 100/10 internet and I get the full speed without any issues.

If I go the C6H route as I may as I can't find a Arock x370 Taichi in stock anywhere, then this will be on my list. Thanks!

I was torn between the Taichi adn the CH6 myself. But in the end I went with the CH6 mainly due to availability and the overclocking thread is huge.

The previous boards I have tried is the Gigabyte Gaming 5 and K7 as well as the MSI gaming pro carbon. so far this has been my favorite.

Yeah I'm waiting on my Noctua mounting kit, if that gets here before the Taichi is in stock, I'm gonna order the Asus. I can't believe how hard it's been to get the Asrock Taichi. The huge Crosshair overclocking thread is a big selling point to. If it had built in wifi I'd already have ordered it.

My only gripe with adding the wifi adapter to the Crosshair Vi is that no bracket is supplied with the motherboard are available even as an option. Seems cheasy of ASUS (The so called Premium brand) Not to at least make available for purchase the bracket. They obviously make them since the Maximus iX Code and Formula include wifi. and the Maximus IX Hero and CH6 Hero have the spot for the adapters but no way of buying it from asus.

I wonder if there's a way, anyone emailed Asus?. As I been waiting for the Taichi, I also check on new Asus boards being announced, we know the Formula and Maximus will have the built in wifi but I haven't seen any mention of new x370 boards from Asus?

Hey robiatti, thanks for the pictures, set my mind at ease regarding the install. I have a question though, does the bluetooth on your intel 7265ngw work? I haven't been able to find any information about whether the m.2 slot is wired for USB to allow bluetooth to work on that card.
