[Various] Call of Duty: WW2 officially confirmed by Activision - Page 21

Thinking back honestly COD : WaW was their best title I mean if COD : IW or COD : AW or whatever would load quicker and not have 10 minutes of video between starting the game and ability to Skip would be nice... I could run into system instability in that 10min of video and have to restart it all over and do it 10 times your sitting there for hours watching the same video over and over before the game starts... Kind drove my cousins nuts hahahaha "Press T to Skip" or something...

Coop is awesome but the A to B type gameplay that has how it has always been I mean seriously A to B to C ... Gotta walk past this particular tree for everything to pop out at ya ...

I think it's about time COD stepped it up to a Dynamic Gameplay style that will impress ... It's like "We did so well on all other titles money wise on sales" so we don't wanna break that streak of good sales.. we can't change it too much thinking no one will buy it but eventually we need a game to change... Crysis for instance was amazing and slowly got worse through the titles (1 was the best by far dynamic choice based objectives was so epic) ... So I guess listen carefully to gamers for the game to succeed..

I don't know why people really hate on CoD sometimes. Yes, the game has it's weaknesses but I've always thought the core story on MW 1-3 and WaW-Blops 2 was solid. Obviously not Hugo Award winning, but hey, for video game writing it wasn't bad.

A lot of people just hate on SP but the fact is that COD back in the day had a reputation for really robust and compelling SP campaigns. COD 2 and 4 both had well reviewed campaigns that I enjoyed but every time a FPS comes out all you get are comments about how only MP matters and the game should only focus on MP. Believe it or not, there actually is a decent number of people out there that want to play a great war FPS like COD or BF with a great campaign. I hope this one will be epic!

Well said. I loved the early COD SP all the way up to MW2 honestly. Then I stopped playing them. But a compelling campaign is welcoming to me. There used to be days where devs could publish a title with both a great campaign and multiplayer.

Pure teamwork will not secure wins in CSGO, but it does in BF (possibly COD too).

Ah idk it certainly is in 1v1 but CSGO is very dependent on coordinated team play. Yes it does involve more skill aiming than the shooters we're discussing of that there is no doubt. But discounting the handful of ridiculous players in the world most that come upon a 2v1 match up of similar expertise are going to die.

I do get your point and agree with it I just think cs go involves much more teamwork than most let on.

I thought the BF3 and BF4 campaigns were okay. I just hate how Battlefield pretty much throws away their characters. I get the style, but it'd be cool if Blackburn and Sarah made a reappareance or something, yanno. And ge tthis guys, how come nobody tried selling single player campaign expansions as DLC?

I actually agree and played through both BF3 and BF4's campaigns. But tbh neither of them can hold a candle to BFBC2's campaign. More than anything I'd like to see a BFBC3 with Sarge and Hags and the rest again! That campaign was long, exciting, entertaining, and most of all fun (and FUNNY)! BF3 and BF4's campaigns were both so much more serious and sterile feeling and, while I still enjoyed them, I'd really love to see something great again in terms of SP in the BF series again. That's why I'm excited by this game. Maybe COD will embrace the kind of fun story telling they used to do in the franchise? WWII is a great place to start!

There's HUNDREDS of wars to choose from, many of which are far more important and interesting than WW2.

Why do developers keep going back to same old boring ground? doh.gif

#3. Effectively had a death toll of nearly 300,000,000, making it the most deadly war to date. It's known as the biggest mass killing in human history.

#4. United China for the first time ever and unified Russia.

#5. Pioneered revolutionary military techniques/technology/strategies that had never been seen at the time and are still used today.

Etc, etc. Those are just a few cliff notes. And that's not even getting into the countless other political and social effects it had on the world at the time.

There isn't a single event in human history that had a bigger impact than that war.

Ever.

And yet, no developer has ever made a full fledged AAA game about it. kookoo.gif

A game based around that would sell like hot cakes.

300,000,000 deaths over 150 years. Pretty low deaths per year. Puts it at around 2 million per year. Compared to WW2 with 8 or so million deaths per year. WW2 had so much death in little time. Thats what makes it the "greatest" event in world history.

COD started out as a cinematic shooter, not the FPS arena it has turned into.

Agreed. Where's BFBC3? Highly Optimized just like the glorious 2nd? I want BFBC the first one on PC, never got to try it?

Yeah the characters were great in that game and it looked good and ran good and still does today. First Frostbite engine was a masterpiece on performance.

It would be a nice addition for 1st & 3rd Person with Character Creation and make her look good keep the player interested in more than the graphics and gameplay haha

The story and campaign of both games could of been better though, a proper story & campaign.
