[Various] Call of Duty: WW2 officially confirmed by Activision - Page 24

Surely this will be better than the future tech packed CoD games that have plagued the industry the last few years.

That's your technical analysis? How about the global lighting and natural body animations. Vegetation even looks good and not thin like in BF1. Trees splinter rather than collapse when hit with explosives. And we see full destruction of the bell tower. Textures appear blurry due to the use of cinematic DOF.

You missed the part that these footages were captured in game.
Comparing trailers is rarely fruitful for obvious reasons. Modern games have taught us that.

In any case, knowing BF1 and having just compared BF1's trailer with COD's for the sake of science, regardless of how good this one does look, BF1 still looks more realistic, and my first thought is volumetric lighting.

The trailer claims all of the footage is in-game (though a lot of it is cut-scenes I admit). Granted that's just what they say but it looks really good to me.

So many people think they've returned to WW2 concept because of BF1 but I think it doesn't make sense because that Sledgehammer Games studio has been developing that game since 2014 or 2015.

BTW, if they focus on the story-line and characters we can see a playeble Cod game finally from Activision.

BF2 is useless to me because of no campaign. That's what excites me about this trailer as its obviously footage from a campaign storyline. I just hope they put as much effort into the SP as they do the MP.

That doesn't mean it's not a string of scripted events.

Ah.. it's time for the yearly hate-on-CoD thread again. rolleyes.gif

The trailer looks good although it looks like cut-scene heavy. I'm looking forward to seeing some gameplay. Most importantly - they ditched the futuristic BS which is a breath of fresh air (lol).

I want to see a more dedicated Korean-War or Vietnam-War centric game, not just DLC/expansions. They could've done that this time around. This is analogous to the Marvel rehash of movies every year with better special effects/graphics. Oh well....
