There's HUNDREDS of wars to choose from, many of which are far more important and interesting than WW2.

Why do developers keep going back to same old boring ground? doh.gif

Any suggestions? Genuinely interested

I love the subject matter to the extent that I'm really tempted to derail the thread with a historical discussion, but I haven't liked an Activision game in years. Ever since MW2, my interest in COD has waned to nothing.

I'm back on BF1 as less servers are using that Fairfight crap, probably going to be there for a while unless another dev makes a crack at a historical shooter.

It won't because that's just your opinion (one with very faulty parameters, anyway).

But, hey, at least you're edgy!

I'm sorry BF1 will go down in history as one of the worst games of all time. I think BFBC2 is the worst game of all time. In fact I'll never buy another EA/DIC3 cheat game again. There are a lot of people think that same way.
You're obviously being sarcastic right?

Considering cod 2 was the epitome of video game cheats as well as considering BFBC2 is generally regarded as a fantastic multiplayer game. Now that I think about it, the SP was good as well. If by a lot of people that think the same way, you mean not many people at all, then I guess I buy what you're selling. Otherwise it sounds like you're just making stuff up because of some personal battlefield vendetta.

Oh god. Knowing Activision, the sinking of the ARA General Belgrano will be one long scripted in game cutscene and five minutes of gameplay walking down the cruiser deck. With Michael Bay explosions to cover up the lack of things to do.

The Mongol Invasion Wars are the most important battles/conquests in history.

#1. It lasted almost 150 years.

#2. Was responsible for the biggest epidemic plague in history ever. (Bubonic Plague)

#3. Effectively had a death toll of nearly 300,000,000, making it the most deadly war to date. It's known as the biggest mass killing in human history.

#4. United China for the first time ever and unified Russia.

#5. Pioneered revolutionary military techniques/technology/strategies that had never been seen at the time and are still used today.

Etc, etc. Those are just a few cliff notes. And that's not even getting into the countless other political and social effects it had on the world at the time.

There isn't a single event in human history that had a bigger impact than that war.

Ever.

And yet, no developer has ever made a full fledged AAA game about it. kookoo.gif

A game based around that would sell like hot cakes.

COD and COD United Offensive were a baladt to play especially with the mod support that it had during that time.

Same with COD 2, it made me into an even more competitive player. Even MOHAA during that time was awesome. World at War I enjoyed quite throughly but got a bit tiresome after a few hours and only played it ever so often.

I have low expectations for this COD ww2 game....like pretty low. Not expecring anything amazeballs....
