[Various] Call of Duty: WW2 officially confirmed by Activision - Page 5

We got the Vietnam War with the BO series and most people don't want to play a ball and musket FPS, let alone a sword based one. It's at least been 9 years since the last WW2 game in the series. What are people expecting?

If you think this is bad, wait a few more years to see what "themes" the FPS genre comes up with now that everything has been rehashed.

Now I don't have a current shooter I enjoy, other than BF4.

Honestly though, COD could pull me back in if they do dedicated servers and make it similiar to World at War. W@W was really really fun to me, and I could use more fun. The kill streaks and perks were pretty basic, the weapons had decent variety, and the maps had great flow for the most part. Maybe a few too many choke points, but that is to be expected these days. Do I EXPECT this game to have any of the things I just listed?.......NOPE.

If only we had proper dedicated BC2 EA-independent servers...

Yeah like? Please don't say vietnam, because that's probably one of the worst, which only interests 2 countries i honestly don't care about at all, so yeah, please explain which war are FAR MORE important that World Wars.

#3. Effectively had a death toll of nearly 300,000,000, making it the most deadly war to date. It's known as the biggest mass killing in human history.

#4. United China for the first time ever and unified Russia.

#5. Pioneered revolutionary military techniques/technology/strategies that had never been seen at the time and are still used today.

Etc, etc. Those are just a few cliff notes. And that's not even getting into the countless other political and social effects it had on the world at the time.

There isn't a single event in human history that had a bigger impact than that war.

Ever.

And yet, no developer has ever made a full fledged AAA game about it. kookoo.gif

A game based around that would sell like hot cakes.

Yeah and how do you plan on recreating those scenarios exactly, especially on a call of duty?
If they give us old school dedicated servers with server controls and mod capabilities, they will have a winner!
Could they possibly do a double pack game? kind of like IW and MW remastered. I understand its Sledgehammer this time around, what game can they offere as a remastered though? This would of made sense for Treyarch to pull this off and also release World at War remastered

What developer is making this game?

Sledgehammer? Infinity Ward? Treyarch?

I will buy this.

And PC would still have a loser on their hands, because the only shooters PC players play now are Battlefield, CS:GO and Overwatch. CoD is often DOA. I even wish the old CoD's were doable, but the only half decent servers left with population are 64 slots, and full constantly...64 players is not fun. Just, no. A maximum of 40 was fine, and that was with CoD2's large maps.
