Anyone killed a CPU lately?

Hey guys I am about to upgrade my rig and was doing so reading on my next rig's components. I have a certain GHz goal in mind, but from what i have read, I may have to push the voltage envelope a bit, so to speak. I have seen that some have needed ~1.52 vcore to get to the goal i have in mind. Has anyone killed a modern CPU at this voltage? I know the heat will be a bit to handle, but i think ive got that part covered. If anyone could let me know if they or their friends have killed a CPU running at this voltage it would be appreciated, and by that i mean i will begin adjusting my GHz expectations =D thanks all

This would be AMD?

Negative, Intel. I am hoping to reach the club that you are in on a 2600k and from what i have seen, depending on silicon lottery, I may need quite a bit of voltage to get there

As a matter of fact, I did:

http://www.overclock.net/t/1626235/this-guy-intentionally-destroyed-his-cpu-by-pushing-as-much-vcore-as-possible-on-vcore-punches-2-0v#post_25990359

In which case I had to crank all the way up to 1.7 V to produce enough leakage currents, hot carriers, oxide breakdown etc. to degrade it to the point of not being able to respond to stock clock speed operation at default BIOS voltage anymore. Although, this was a 14-nm Skylake chip which should respond to extreme voltages quite differently than your 32-nm chip on a planar process node. But let me tell you at least this much to put you at ease, the previous CPU I owned was indeed a 2600K (still works perfectly fine by the way) and been sitting at 1.5 V for a stable 5 GHz for more than 5 years without a problem (except, had to raise it to 1.52 V lately).

It requires more skill than voltage.
