There you go, that's the "friction" they were hoping to create.

I like it, a lot.

Gives the cheaters something to consider when they want to play according to their own rules vs what everyone else plays with.

Plus you need to input your Gov't issue ID to play most games here anyways, you can circumvent using your parents ID but at least that way you have to get permission or act malicious towards the people that enable you to live in the first place.

Good. Great way to make cheaters pay even more. Either get your phone number banned from making any accounts, or go buy a new sim everytime you get banned. In this case, it looks like toxic players will get weeded out. Wish League did this now.

And hackusations will increase. Great. I can't wait to be falsely accused.

And that's what Overwatch is for.

Between Prime and needing to be level 21 before you can even BE Prime regardless of you having a number or not, that's quite a lot of effort (multiple days at minimum) per account to hack in Prime Comp, assuming you don't get IP/MAC ID'd on top of it with VAC or get caught in casual while leveling up.

Funny question, do you even play CS:GO or DOTA, or are you just complaining?

I'm old school.

I think one of the best deterrents is getting rid of this politically correct garbage where you can't name and shame.

If you cheat and whether or not it was or wasn't you isn't in question (As in it's definitely you), the alias/account which you cheated on should be publicly broadcasted/named and shamed. I'm only talking about the alias, not personal information.

Go look at the Rust LFG parts of Reddit and many of the people looking for clan members (usually as slaves they can drop later on) have a VAC ban from something, then try to play it off as nothing. So many have started using secondary accounts to recruit when called out. They usually resort to "BUT IT WAS IN A DIFFERENT GAME".

At least Valve changed Steam accounts a few years ago to show if someone has a VAC ban even if the profile is private.

Blizzard is another extremely large example of an enabler.

And this, of course.

Lenght and print of dong. Just because they need it.

Steam's built-in browser is like a 3-year-old build of Chromium IIRC, and features like the music player haven't been updated since their introduction. Winamp of all things is more feature-packed, easier to use, and lighter-weight. I don't think they're capable of doing anything beyond an automated check with phone numbers.

Also it's somewhat concerning that Valve's platform is so rampant with cheaters and knife thieves that they need these security features in the first place.

I had someone get into my steam account at some point and they changed my email/password. Steam guard did not alert me. After recovering my account I contacted valve support about the issue and all they did was reply with a generic copy/paste about how steam guard works. I'M CONTACTING YOU BECAUSE IT DOES NOT WORK!
