Hi, guys! In your opinion what is the more powerful processor in aspect of gaming? According to that test https://youtu.be/ohsvf3pDONk it seems that Q9650 is a bit better! Although it's 0.8GHZ less than the i3 6300! If that video isn't fake -mostly it's not- what's the technical reason putting that old Q9650 on advantage?

They may have the same amount of the threads however the Q9650 has more cores then the i3 and a larger cache. It really depends on the situation is some areas the i3 is faster but it others the Q9650 is faster. GTA5 isnt a good game for comparison as it can use all the cores of the Q9650. Where as older games are limited to a single thread which would make the i3 a faster option.

If you are looking to upgrade from a Q9650. I would recommend looking at i5 or R5 options. i3's just aren't a good gaming chip anymore.

I thought that it doesn't matter if they got the same amount of threads! thanks bro for the explanation.

In some cases it doesn't matter. However a lot of games just aren't coded to use the hyper threaded parts correctly. In some games it actually makes the game run worse when those extra threads are being used. And it others it just won't use them at all.
