Hi guys, i don't know if this is the right place to ask this, if it is not please point me to the right section.

First of all here's my rig:
CPU: i5 2500k
MoBo: asrock p67 extreme6
GPU: inno3d herculez gtx 970
Cooler: Noctua NH c14
Ram: 8Gb G.Skill Ripjaws
PSU: Corsair AX750

So i had my CPU overclocked at 4.8Ghz at 1.38v for about a month now,
all of the sudden my pc started failing to boot, not even reaching the bios, just shutting down and trying to boot again.
I did a factory reset pulling out the motherboard battery and then it started working again just fine.
The problem is that now i'm not able to overclock anymore, since even a little 3.8Ghz overclock causes the same problem.
Is it a PSU problem? What do you guys think?

Overclock your video card. If the PC then starts to fail, the PSU is definitely suspect.

Probably a mobo problem.

what is the history on the CPU and mobo
Have you had them longer than they were overclocked

I bought both CPU and mobo back in 2011, i remember playing with CPU overclock a bit back then, nothing too extreeme, but aftere a while i got bored with system crashes and instabilties and left the processor at its standar clock.
So i never bothered overclocking again till a month or two ago, where i reached a stable 4.8Ghz at 1.38v, but then these problems started happening.
I might have to mention that recently i had to switch ram's slot because the pc wouldn't boot.
Also i also experience from time to time complete freezes, where i'm forced to hard reboot. I really don't know what is causing this, but maybe it's related.

So what exactly did you upgrade that caused a problem that would require a BIOS update?

I didn't change anything to my computer hardware, i recently added a new 3Tb hard drive, but i don't think that might have caused any issues.
Maybe a Clear CMOS would have worked as well.
