I can not get that working in Linux at all.

I've had more luck with triple monitors in linux than I did in windows.

As for games, many games ported to linux don't include resolution profiles for triple monitors. Some games you can run in borderless windowed mode to span all three monitors like in Grid Autosport.

My issue is the fourth screen and SLI. Xorg and Nvidia won't play nice to make it work. In windows it has worked fine for the last five or six years since moving to this setup. I have never gotten it to work in Linux. Even the Arch forums were no help.

So if you connect 4 screens to the primary NV card SLI refuse to work?

I'm having a hard time finding the right distro for the small V5-122p.

Manjaro Gnome GUI won't load due to driver issues. Fedora and Ubuntu Gnome are slow due to the weak APU. XFCE is faster but everything is small and it's obvious it wasn't made for touch screens. I haven't tried Cinnamon or Mate as I wanted to try something different for a change and need something suitable for touch screens. I'm getting a little frustrated.

I've installed Mint Cinnamon on my HTPC with a C2D E6700 (65nm, 1066FSB) and it works fine. It can decode 720p streams easily but has difficulty with 1080p due to the ridiculously weak X3100 iGPU. I am thinking of buying a low power GPU such as the HD5570 or R7 240 for it as I would like to have the ability to play some casual games on it too.

Why don't you get RX 550? It has H.265 hardware decoding. And major Linux distros have Radeon drivers out of box.

I've found that Ubuntu Gnome has not installed drivers for the A6-1450 automatically. It has basic drivers but no real graphics drivers.

The reason I am not looking at the RX550 is because I can't find low profile cards and it costs at least 120 USD. That is three times more than the R7 240, which I can get in low profile.

Where is Linux?

I just tested Plex again and the E6700 and 946G can decode 1080p streams but I will still get a video card for games.

I also want to find a different distro for the HTPC, I really don't want to just stick with Mint.

I tried to install the AMD Pro drivers and it went really badly, Ubuntu 17 got into a load loop and wouldn't load at all so I've had to reinstall. Fortunately it only took a short while and I will not be touching those drivers for the little laptop again.
