Calling on Nixeus & DreamMachine Engineers : Make us a WMO!

Thread Starter
Since nobody else will do it, despite everyone crying and begging for years. Plus, Finalmouse are just too incompetent to pull it off, even though they tried.

I have a G403, as well as a Revel and a DM1 Pro S because I'm that kind of guy. I main the G403, but like the others too, despite their m1 / m2 inconsistencies.

So... On we go, designing the new classic.

My 'design' :

- Exact same shape, don't go messin' about!
- Love the original wheel too. Easy clicks, little bit notchy, light scroll, light click. Sweet.
- No braided cable, Nixeus / Zowie cables are nice. But make it slightly higher than original or point upwards, it's a bit close to the mat.
- Find a way to add a couple of usable thumb buttons. Switches on the side of the shell, on separate board, best feel. Couple dollars more won't hurt.
- I like my G403 m1 / m2 clicks too. Copy that! Originals not bad either. Basically, mechanical, not a cheap flexing shell.
- 3360 sensor. Same placement as WMO.
- 75 grams or less. Light!
- Light. Lights? Whatever. Don't think anyone needs any. As long as it doesn't add needless weight.
- Driverless, DPI button, 400, 800, 1200, 1600, 3200. Maybe a colored led at the bottom, like Zowies.
- Feets, well, the originals are good, something easily replaceable. Maybe Sensei-like.
- Texture... Colour... meh. I don't mind the Revel's bare plastic sides, although G403 is best, I've found. Original is plain ABS, works too.
- Price : $40-$50.

Same shape and the Nixeus Revel's side material wouldn't be ideal. The Nixeus Revel's sides allow for fair grip when picking it up because they are angled, they would not be as good if the sides were straight upwards like the WMO. Especially so if you plan on adding side buttons, slipping up and feeling those would be uncomfortable, on top of the occasional accidental mis-press.

That's my major actual design nitpick, I have different opinions for some things but they're not actual design issues.

Flat bottom, no ridges. Just come with an uncut sheet of PTFE.

FTFY.

I mean, I'm sure you can make a good mouse with a lower price too.

You literally can't copy the logitech buttons. The "cheaper" manufacturers don't do it for a reason --- cost. It requires many details of the molds to be paid attention to.
Also many of users in this forum hates logitech buttons, they think logi buttons are hair-trigger.

There's a 3310 WMO clone from the Commatech brand to tide you over for now.

My bad.

no, that brand made an IMO1.1 clone, not WMO.
WMO had few fans in China, so this company had no intention of copying WMO from the beginning
