Choosing a gaming monitor 27"-30" 1440p budget 700-800$

Hey guys!

Need your advice.

I missed quality PC gaming for several years (was gaming on Laptop with GTX880 and PS4). Decided to get new good-old PC.

Mainly for Gaming and browsing.

HDMI Port for PS4 would be very good addition.

I know these days people care for frequency - I play some fast--paced online shooters like Battlefield and fighting games on PS4. But I care for good color depth too. If it's a matter of price - I'm ready to get up to 1k $.

My friend got the most expensive Asus monitor and what he told me is that picture wasn't as deep as on iPad Pro. I guess it's because we don't do hardcore gaming on iPad right and there is no chance we will have same quality on gaming displays?

What options do I have?

As for Graphic card I'm looking towards GTX1080

What resolution will you be playing at? The 1080 can handle 4k.

I don't know actually, I want something let's say Time-Tested... Plus PS4.. I don't think I WANT 4k, it could be a nice bonus, I just want to get something with good value for money and don't want to overpay. Plus I heard there are issues with icon size when working in Windows - I don't want that, I want something that would be smooth for eyes.

I work 10 hours in front of 6 monitors so in my after-hours I just wanna play a game and read internet as comfortable as possible.

Be aware that PS4 outputs at either 1080P, or 4K for the Pro. PS4 does not support 1440P. I tried a PS4Pro on my Viewsonic XG2703-GS (1440P, IPS, Gsync) and I was forced to either play in a 1:1 pixel mapped Window or deal with upscaling from 1080P to 1440P; downscaling from 4K is not supported. It didn't look that great.

In my opinion, either stick with a 1080P monitor, move up to 4K, or drop the requirement for PS4 support altogether and settle on 1440P 27".

Got you, thank you!

So PS4 thing is def optional, but if it's worth to invest a bit in future and get a 4k I'm ready.

You can still use a PS4 with a 4k monitor. The console will automatically set the monitor to 1080p or you'll just have to manually change it to 1080p everytime you play the console.

So any particular models to take a look? Once again just regular web browsing and PC gaming is more important then PS4 compatibility (i'm not even sure I will be using ps4 with it, just good bonus)
