Hello guys!

I have two PCs. One with Radeon 5870 and one with Radeon 6450 and a Dell UP2716D. The Dell monitor came with a mini-DP to DP cable which I connected it to my Radeon 5870 and works beautiful. I want to connect my Radeon 6450 DVI graphics card (from the second PC) to my DP port of the Dell UP2716D.

The Dell UP2716D has one mini-DP input, one DP input, two HDMI inputs.

How can I accomplish that? What will I need to buy? A DVI-D to DP cable maybe?

Thank you!

PS : No eyefinity no nothing! Just two PCs connected to my new Dell UP2716D.

Connecting DVI output to DP input is very difficult. Just use a DVI to HDMI cable/adapter.

One last question. Does HDMI supports 2560x1440? Will I have problems with older graphics cards (PCs) ? Sometimes I bring PCs of friends etc. to fix them.. so I want to be able to use my monitor with these (older) systems..

Thank you SO much Glenwing!!!!!

Yes, HDMI can do 2560×1440. If an older device does not support 2560×1440 over HDMI, it will still work at 1080p.
