It surprised me as well. I don't wanna claim that everyone will get the same results maybe its a fluke for me. But all I know is my overall temps did drop by a degree or so minimal or not.

I watched JayzTwoCents do a review on it and it apparently dropped the cards temp by 2-3C while under load with the GPU fans at 60%.
Too bad he did not test the water temps as well.

All the info I found says it DOESNT cover the mem and VRM's. I also saw pictures and it looked like a U shaped pipe around the GPU. Am i missing something? Its the same price (for me) as a FE and EK block. If it cools the entire card that may make the difference. I do like the see though ek blocks though.

60% though is hardly silent...right? I'd say 35% would match the decibels coming from my case.

I want to buy the card, I have microcenter credit and they stock this model but not the FE. The strix plus block is 1k. The gigabyte plus block is also 1k. But I've never bought a factory WC card and always heard it's not worth it. Most of that is resale which wouldn't apply here but also temps.

I've watched a few videos and it does look good for WC. I'm just not sure what to do. If its hitting 2050ish out of the box why even OC?(unless benching) Your gonna get 1-2 frames in the BEST case scenario.

Also whats up with no free games? Destiny 2 would sell me right now...greedy ass Nvidia

It's seems to cover everything important. Also 60% is still quite silent, at least for me.

With the fans turned ON, the heat sink of the 1080Ti Poseidon effectively acts as an additional radiator in the water loop.

Depending on how one has configured their water loop (i.e. size/quantity of radiators present), it may or may not affect the water temperature. There will be a more noticeable difference with single small size radiator (i.e. 1x240) + 1080Ti Poseidon in the water loop compared to say 3x420 radiators in a push/pull + 1080Ti Poseidon in the water loop.

Honestly with the 5 other fans in my case and the waterpump going the GPU fans at 60% isn't even noticeable. I was in a similar boat as you. I was getting a 1080Ti and definitely was going to be watercooling it and was looking at options. For the price this was the cheapest option available to me at the time and it works flawlessly. I was looking at getting a Founders card and waterblocking it but none were available so I had to use a none reference and most of those were way more added up than just the Poseidon or equal in price and I figured why not get the one where its plug and play I dont have to put the block on and I get a warranty.

I really dont plan on overclocking this GPU since GPU Boost 3.0 does just that already. I was also fortunate enough to get Destiny 2 bundle when that was going around a few weeks ago which also helped my purchase.

I'm still a big proponent of the card, but the two fans on my card do actually make noise which I'm not a fan (haha) of. Maybe its coil whine?

I set it to not turn on until the card gets to 50C, at which point my case/rad fans are making enough noise to mask it anyway.

Edit: I enabled V-Sync which got rid of the coil whine I was hearing. Aparently there are two types, one by the fan which is bad, and another if the FPS is too high (which is common). I also set an FPS target of 90 to eliminate this further while keeping in mind fps for VR.
