ASUS ROG GTX 1080 Ti Poseidon - Page 18

post #171 of 221
I am thinking of getting 1 or 2 1080ti Poseidon and 2 Ultrawide 34" Alienware AW3418DW (1440p @ 120hz) and ideally a 42" 4K if possible on top of the two ultrawides or worse case I could do 3 ultrawides.

Two questions arise

1) Do you guys I will need 2 X 1080TI Poseidons to run this setup in non-sli or should I do SLI (although I am hearing that SLI is dying big time and not really worth it) Or Maybe, just Maybe one card will handle it all ?

2) Since each card only has ONLY 2 display ports(1.4) and 2 HDMI ports, how should I connect all 3 monitors since usually I could use the 3 display ports like many other 1080ti ?

Thanks

I don't have an answer for you I only use 1 screen in SLI, but I do not think I see stock anywhere for these anymore..

^ Amazon UK website has the 1080Ti Posiedon available, but the price is in Sterling here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-ROG-POSEIDON-GTX1080TI-P11G-GAMING-NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B072LV6TWF/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1513305460&sr=8-1&keywords=ASUS+ROG+Poseidon+GeForce+GTX+1080+TI

Shipping costs back to home country will need to be taken into account. The total cost will be lower than what the re-sellers are currently (over)charging on Amazon US website.mad.gif

According to ASUS specification page for the 1080Ti Posiedon the maximum Digital Max Resolution is: 7680x4320

If your multiple monitor setup fits within this range, then the card will drive the displays.

The way to connect three monitors would be:
Display port 1 ---> Monitor 1
Display port 2 ---> Monitor 2
HDMI port 1 ---> Monitor 3

Most likely the 4k monitor would be connected to HDMI port as the refresh rate is generally capped at 60Hz.

Did any one who have a 1080ti Poseidon put the card under loop using EKWB fittings and hard tubings ? I have 16mm EK HD PETG hard tubes and some EK HDC 16mm Rigid Tube Fitting G1/4 Black fittings. To my complete surprise, the EK HDC 16mm Rigid Tube Fitting G1/4 Black fittings are too wide and don't fit the Poseidon 1080Ti ! Do I have to get the smaller diameter EK HD 12/16mm Adapter Black fittings, or else what fittings should I use? Kindly please advise at your earliest convenience as I am now stuck while trying to do my first ever custom loop.

Thanks in advance.

^Maximization,

Try PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS with NVIDIA's latest driver that gives SLI support and in ultra settings at 4K. This game is meant to push limit of GPU processing.

No SLI support for me.

Latest drivers installed, game only uses 1 card
